First Fine Arts Festival
Mudhra, after inauguration as a fulfledged sabha on 12th June 1995 decided to organize Fine Arts Festival during December season every year. The first Fine Arts Festival was inaugurated by Barath Ratna Dr.M.S.Subbulakshmi and Sri.M.S.Sadasivam and the entire festival was supported by Ashok Leyland headed by Sri.Seshasayee as its Managing Director. It was thematic performance on all the days by reputed artists. This was the turning point of Mudhra as a organization to serve the music community.
Second Fine Arts Festival
Mudhra, had its Second Fine Arts Festival at Narada Gana Sabha, Main hall from 1st December 1996 to 8th December 1996. Festival was inaugurated by Mr.Ajit Kumar, GM,Philips- Mr.Karthick Narayan,MD,Ucal Product presided & Mr.Sampath ,VP, Bank of America was the chief guest.The festival started with a new concept One raga One Kriti by Madurai Sri.T.N.Seshagopalan. Highlights : Karnatic Hindustani Jugalbandi by Nagamani Srinath and Shyamala Bhave, Dwitala Pallavi concert by Suguna Purushothaman and a one day seminar on Stalwarts.
Third Fine Arts Festival
Third Fine Arts Festival of Mudhra was organized at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai from 6th December 1997 to 14th December 1997. Festival was inaugurated by Dr.K.J.Yesudas, Chief Guests: Parasuram, MD of M.K.India and B.R.Kumar, DDG of All India Radio.Highlights:One day seminar on Microphones and 4 hour concert by Parasuram Brothers.Fourth Fine Arts Festival
Fourth Fine Arts Festival of Mudhra was at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai from 6th December 1998 to 14th December 1998. Mudhra’s Sixth Fine Arts Festival was inaugurated by N.Ram of The Hindu and Presided by Dr.Susheela Mariappan of University of Madras on 5th December 2000. Smt.Sulochana Pattabhiraman Senior musician, teacher and art critic was presented the Mudhra Award of Excellence during the inauguration. Mr.Kothandaraman MD, Deltagram and B.R.Kumar, DDG,AIR were the Chief Guest. Mudhra inaugurated its 16th Fine Arts Festival on 10th December and concluded on 9th Jan 2011. All top ranking artists provided a variety fare of events. Injikkudi Subramaniam made a fitting start with his melody filled Nadaswaram performance. V.Shankar (President,Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts, Mumbai) inaugurated and presented the “Mudhra Award of Excellence” to Dr.Nedunuri Krishnamurthy. Dr.S.Vijaya Kumar ( Chairman and MD,Vijay Nirman Co.) was the Guest of Honour. Dr.Nalli Kuppuswamy Chetti presided and A.Natarjan and P.S.Narayanaswamy felicitated. The function was followed by a concert by Sriram Parthasarathy. Three full days were deidcated to 'talent promotion concerts' by promising youngsters. A two days Music Appreciation Programme was conducted for rasikas. Youngsters in the dance field were also given an opportunity to showcase their talent. Mudhra's 17th Fine Arts Festival began on 9th December 2011 and concluded successfully on 8th January2012. The fest which spanned 31 days had a variety fare of events and apart from vocal and instrumental concerts by eminent artists. Mudhra’s 18th Fine Arts festival spanning 31 days, commenced on 7th December2012. It was inaugurated by Dr.Nalli Kuppuswamy Chetti, President of Mudhra. The Mudhra Award of Excellence was presented to Shri.P.S.Narayanswamy for his outstanding contribution as Musician, Guru & Composer.
